Gita Chapter 2 - Discernment

-Krishna then starts his preaching and says, only the body will be killed not the soul. Dharma has to be protected as duty and the war is inevitable.

1. Destruction leads to sin, damages fear, and disturbances throughout the life and so better avoids them.

2. Dejection plus faint heartedness are not expected from all good people as it will not get success.

3. Cowardice will only cause delight in the heart of enemies and so terrify them with full valour.

4. Disrespecting and attacking the respected elders at any time is not at all considered worthy actions.

5. Wealth and other sense enjoyments received by just injuring or killing nobles do not last long.

6. Decision taking often gets puzzled whenever its results are confusing and not worth on any account.

7. The mind obsessed by compassion does not allow the intellect to take any policy or firm opinion.

8. Victory is worth joyful one only when it is not reminding the worst grief that dry up our senses.

9. Refusal to follow the good advices for prosperous carrier, by observing silence is not proper.

10. When someone is in complete sorrow, inconsistency in serious actions creates a fun only.

11. Wise man does not grieve unnecessarily on events and matters which are inevitable realities.

12. Death is not to be grieved at all, as it pertains to the mortal body and not at all to the soul.

13 Note that transition of child, boyhood, youth, and old age are attributed to the soul through the body.

14. Do not rejoice over pleasures or feel sorrow over pains as they are temporary one.

15. Immortality is one with equable mind, who are unperturbed by any contacts for joy or sadness.

16. The fact of Real as ever living one, and the unreal as never in existence must be known to all.

17. Soul is real, constant, precious and ever exist ant, and none can destroy this so easily anywhere.

18. Justification for any definite action must be logical acceptable, non controversial and universal.

19. In any killings, only a body is affected by another body and there is no involvement of soul.

20. The fact must be known as 'soul is never killed by anybody, and soul also does not kill anybody'.

21. The soul is having such characters of imperishable, eternal, and free from birth and death.

22. Birth and death have to be taken just as wearing a new garment and shedding worn out.

23. Soul is powerful one in which it cannot be destroyed by any means of weapons, fire, water, or air.

24. The soul is incapable of being cut, and an omnipotent one like the great power of Almighty GOD.

25. Grieving for the death of a body, is not reasonable as it is not everlasting.

26 The soul is without any birth or death, and there is nothing to gain over birth or loss over death.

27. When once birth is taken, he should stand only in the queue of death as death is certain to birth.

28. As the body has no connection before birth and after death, there need be no lamentation or happiness.

29 The great souls who have realized 'self 'cannot even describe its character to others to understand.

30. There is no meaning for any grief, when no actions are taken to meet various challenges in life.

31. Righteous duties resulting in righteous effects by righteous means are done by righteous persons.

32. Opportunity to do any work for the welfare of all being is to be taken itself as a great blessing.

33. Shirking or refusing in doing the allotted prescribed duty perfectly and in time is always wrong.

34. Failing one's duty will cause many disasters and also result him to loose his reputation and fame.

35. Fear complex not only disturb in doing the duties but also make one to loose the respects in society.

36. The remarks from enemies, for failure to do duty are to be taken as friendly and are to be corrected.

37. Determination of taking both victory and defeat as one and as 'blessing' is necessary for peacefulness.

38. Equal treatment of gain and loss, pleasure and pain will not result in any disappointment in life.

39. Even mindedness and the work of selfless actions results in throwing off all the disturbing shackles.

40. Little discipline protects one from tragic fears, and full discipline produce with more glorious results.

41. Decision taking is important to everyone in everything as it will not wander mind in multifarious aims.

42. Ignorance of Truth causes only attachment to the worldly desires that too with much more sufferings.

43. Duty is to be assessed, analyzed and judged properly as a tremendous exercise to perform without fail.

44Anyone showing his mind only to his own enjoyments and position, is nothing but utter selfishness.

45. Bringing our mind, senses and body completely under our full control, is important for a happy living.

46. When a reservoir like Supreme bliss is there, just a pond, or well like rituals are only a funny thing.

47. All of us have full right to do work with dedication, and not at all to do with any expectations.

48. Attaining equanimity through many disciplines available is the highest effective order in any man.

49. The poor and pity are persons who always expect the fruits of the performance of work immediately.

50. Performing duties with a balanced firm mind and determination are sure to attain remarkable success.

51. Wise man without expectation of worldly pleasures in life will attain salvation without any failure.

52. After stopping the admiration on worldly pleasures, mind will automatically show some indifference.

53. Distraction and wavering of mind are only due to conflicting statements produced from various sects.

54. When one is not engaged in any form of action, he is not considered as a perfect man at all times.

55. All forms of desires if completely ridden from the mind and actions, it will then be full stability.

56. Mind can easily be stabled if he is completely free from passion, anger, fear and thirst for pleasures.

57. When an attachment is eradicated from the mind, all unhealthy mental feelings will cease automatically.

58. Meditation helps in not allowing senses on the objects of enjoyment, and so keep mind in pure alert.

59. Renunciation is avoiding anything done for pleasure by sound, touch, color, taste, and smell of things.

60 .Stability of mind is nothing but control of all our senses just for the sake of desire of objects.

61. When mind and senses are controlled, nature of constancy takes place in all our daily performances.

62. Anger and hatred, are non fulfillments of sense objects developing expectation, desire, and attachments.

63. Ruining occurs because of the loss of reasoning which comes from confusion of memory and infatuations.

64. Discipline of senses by stopping likes and dislikes, can be done by just repetition of divine names.

65. When sorrows from sins have gone fully, then the pure heart can easily experience a spiritual joy.

66. Man without proper thinking capacity, will not be in a position to attain peace on any of his actions.

67. Faculty of discrimination may be compared to boat in ocean proceeding in different ways in strong wind.

68. Complete restraint of enjoyment of senses from their objects makes persons as an admiring personality.

69. Every enjoyment in the world has to be treated as a momentary one, as they cause sufferings always.

70. The happiness of stable minded persons is like ocean, which is not affected by a strong wind or storm.

71. When one is free from egoism, attachment and thirst in the world, then peace will get easy entry in him.

72. Truth, knowledge and bliss are realized, once a man is not disturbed by possession and position.
