Gita Chapter 6 - Meditation

-Krishna stresses the importance of control over the mind and senses and the need for meditation to attain salvation.

1. Performance of action done sincerely in accordance with rules to the best of one's ability is good.

2. Without completely renouncing thoughts of the worldly pleasure, the mind cannot be controlled.

3. Desire will automatically cease, when one disown attachment to the pleasure of senses and its actions.

4. If a thought about the worldly pleasures is gone out of mind, it is possible to attain higher status.

5. Friend of just for the material pleasure and bondage is not at all friendship.

6. When the body, senses, and mind have been trained thoroughly in discipline, it is sure to know the Truth.

7 .A self controlled man does not differentiate any of joys and sorrows, heat and cold honor and dishonor.

8. By mastering the senses, the features of precious gold, seasoned stone and ordinary earth appear same.

9. The principle of diversity is not to be borne in one's mind under any circumstances and on any account.

10. Yoga requires not only controlled mind and body, but also a constant practice of sincere meditation.

11. Cleanliness is more than Godliness, and so keeps the places cleaned of all impurities.

12. Concentration of mind helps in purification of the 'self' and for full eradication of evil.

13. Firmness during meditation helps to be free from other distractions, lethargy and innumerable evils.

14 .Observation of complete chastity helps one and all to get mental and spiritual strength at all times.

15. Mind in complete and perfect discipline, concentrating only on Truth elevates one in peace.

16. Eating too much of food causes more sleeping time, indigestion, and result in other poor man's share.

17. Regulation of daily activities kept within bounds, helps in getting good health and temperament.

18. With thorough disciplined mind and deep meditation, maximum peace in the world is possible.

19. Steady mind should be firm one, like the flame of burning light when there is no wind surrounding it.

20. When once the truth is known, the mind becomes stable, and relieves us from other misconceptions.

21. The momentary perishable and suffering caused pleasure are sure to happen, when one goes out of Truth.

22. There are no Physical ailments, bad insults, sad bereavements, or tragic failures, if Truth is realized.

23. A mind full of perseverance and zeal, is never affected by events taking place according to destiny.

24. When pleasures of world arise in thoughts, worries due to desires and attachments will surface.

25. Tranquility can be attained through gradual practice and by freeing the mind in thoughts of world.

26. In flickering and unsteady mind, indulging in transient pleasures is bad. So, better find a permanent joy.

27. Truth, knowledge and bliss are surely possible when proper perfect decisions are taken on any matter.

28. There is no comparison or equal, in earth, to the eternal joy derived to one who has realized Truth.

29. Unity everywhere, every time, on every subject by every person must be the motto of all leaders.

30. The main and the best support of the entire world consisting of animate and inanimate creations is God.

31. When there is a feeling that some one is watching actions always, everything will be correctly done.

32. Man with an ability to develop even mindedness at a stable point can be called as attained perfection.

33. Lack of concentration is mainly due to attraction and repulsion, causing restlessness.

34. The human mind is like a wind, as it is always unsteady, turbulent, and tenacious and more powerful one.

35. Frequent practices for the cultivation of passion, develops, mind control and wins for ever.

36. Reverence and love are particularly needed, while practicing the mind to be under full control.

37. In any public participation, Slackness of effort should not find place and only physical stress is needed.

38. Failure to know the Truth results only in sufferings and lack of discrimination of good and bad.

39 Doubts are cleared only from persons who know the cause and effects of all its actions.

40. The aim of realization is good, as it is sure to never meet with any evil fate after its attainment.

41. Men of meritorious deeds can enjoy fully not only in this world, but also in all celestial worlds.

42. Any person born in the family of a hereditary knowledge is likely to be out of ignorance mostly.

43. The latencies of steadiness is useful for everyone, everywhere and every time, to find the Truth.

44. Pious and devoted persons will never be victims to the line of any wealth or any material enjoyments.

45. Whoever takes up Yoga practice in life, they will be benefited without any sort of sins at all times.

46. Knowledgeable persons can easily understand things in detail with his intellect and reasoning power.

47. Any concentration must be with love ,and not with hatred ,in order to bring out the best results.
